This subject enables students to develop beginner skills and knowledge of social work processes in the context of structured and supervised field placement experience. This subject provides the opportunity for students to combine their knowledge of social work theory and application of their skills into a practice setting. Placements will be offered in direct, indirect or mixed service work with a wide range of client groups and communities in the human services sector. Students will need to attend a total of 400 hours of placement inclusive of three integrated seminars and two peer practice group meetings in accordance with accreditation requirements of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) guidelines.
